Videos

Aside from writing and producing comics, I also make videos a lot. As a result, I run three channels on YouTube; producing different types of content on each.

The first is nobmouse, a channel that was originally intended as a place to store short animations based on The Life of Nob T. Mouse but which now serves as my primary channel. I post a short video on this channel almost every day and it’s where you’ll find my comedy routines, news discussions and so forth.

The second channel is ZJKR, my daily vlog. Here I post videos of what I am doing that day. These are mostly raw footage because the idea is to create something that records my life rather than something where I’ve sat down and thought about the scripting, presentation and so forth. That’s not to say I don’t edit the footage because I do; otherwise you would end up watching a lot of me just umming and ahhing, which is never all that great.

Both channels have very different title and credit sequences befitting their differing focusses and themes. The nobmouse titles rely heavily on the ‘Square Window’ logo I designed for All Mouse Media Ltd, my publishing company and this logo also features in the end credits on all nobmouse videos. This works for that channel because of its roots in the Nob Mouse comics, which All Mouse Media publishes.

The second channel is about my life and therefore I started using a title card called ‘Initializer’, which is basically my initials rendered in a stark font. Initializer has now extended into a short intro sequence rather than a simple title card, featuring a montage of a cup of tea being made. I start the day with a nice cup of tea so I thought I would start my vlog in a similar fashion. :)

The third channel is a little different to the style of either of the other channels. It is called The April Kohl Show and it was designed from the ground up to be a virtual reality chat show; with me playing the part of April Kohl, a computer-generated avatar who discusses a variety of topics with guests from all over the metaverse.

I hope you enjoy these little videos. If you have any comments, I’d love to here them; either here, on the channel pages or on the videos themselves.

Thanks for listening!
